Vice President, Platform Oversight & Relationship Management

Position Summary

The Vice President, Platform Oversight and Relationship Management (“Vice President” or “VP”) reports directly to the Senior Vice President, Director of Deposit, Card, and Loan Operations and is responsible for overall management of the Platform Oversight and Relationship Management Department at Mode Eleven Services (“Mode Eleven”). The Platform Oversight and Relationship Management Department coordinates closely with nearly every other department within Mode Eleven, and its applicable third-party providers, such as Compliance, Legal, Underwriting, Card Services, Accounting, Finance, IT and others to ensure each Fintech Platform (a.k.a. third-party service providers) and Program is onboarded and monitored in accordance with Mode Eleven’s applicable policies. The Vice President is responsible for preparing and presenting all necessary and applicable reporting regarding Mode Eleven’s Fintech Platforms to executive management on a consistent basis.

Primary Responsibilities

    • Recruit and lead relationship managers to support, monitor, and oversee Mode Eleven’s Fintech Platforms.
    • Develop and implement a relationship-based oversight program that complies with Mode Eleven’s third-party risk management program for deposit and lending programs that provides ongoing oversight, program and product testing, reviews, and monitoring with a focus on Fintech Platform retention and profitability.
    • Oversee the day-to-day operational management of Fintech Platforms and corresponding Programs.
    • Assign Fintech Platforms to applicable relationship managers to maintain a balanced approach to managing the risk with the Platforms and the overall relationships.
    • Work closely with the leaders in Compliance, BSA/AML, Legal, IT and other departments to ensure consistent and open communication between the departments.
    • Ensure the Platform Oversight and Relationship Management Department identifies and implements applicable polices and procedures to protect Mode Eleven.
    • Participate in risk-based targeted annual and periodic site visits to Platforms to review and audit the Platform’s adherence to the established agreement(s) and applicable regulations.
    • Develop, review, and provide monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting metrics for all Platforms and Programs to management, including general updates, compliance and legal issues and concerns, and portfolio metrics.
    • Support management and team members in regulatory exams and internal and external audits.
    • Support business development efforts in onboarding of new Platforms.
    • Serve on internal committees as assigned.
    • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience

    • Self-starter, assertive, detail-oriented professional with excellent written and verbal skills.
    • Demonstrated leadership skills and decision making.
    • Highly organized and able lead a team and finish projects.
    • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 years of finance (or related) experience, or related Master’s degree with 5 years of finance experience, primarily focused on operations, risk and relationship management.
    • Experience with consumer and commercial bank card and marketplace lending products.
    • Strong knowledge of third-party risk management, particularly between banks and fintech platforms.
    • Experience building and leading teams.
    • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work well in a team and individually.
    • Experience dealing with regulators (OCC, FDIC, etc.) is highly desired.
    • Strong knowledge of the current banking regulatory environment is required.
    • Ability to analyze complex issues and identify and drive strategic solutions.
    • Skill in coordinating with other departments to accomplish mutual goals between the Mode Eleven and its Platforms.
